Access to the system

The frontend node operates Windows Server 2008. A remote desktop connection to the frontend must be used for login. Detailed instructions are here.

System configuration

• 24 processor cores
• 224 GFlop/s peak performance
• 48 GByte main memory
  

The system is running under Windows Server 2008 and consists of 2 FSC V830 and 4 FSC TX300 machines for compute intensive applications and 2 machines for administration and frontend purposes. The Windows HPC Server 2008 from Microsoft is used to manage the cluster resources.

The 6 compute nodes are connected with InfiniBand HCAs to an InfiniBand switch fabric. A Gigabit Ethernet builds a secondary data network.
