Research

The development of computing systems with high energy-efficiency is currently the prime challenge in computing systems research striving to overcome the stagnating progress in performance and efficiency for individual CPU cores. The core research team at PC² investigates opportunities in this area using custom computing and many-core architectures, heterogeneous computing and emerging compute paradigms.

We maintain close collaboration with the users of our HPC services and are involved in numerous third party-funded collaborative research projects that are funded by the European Commision, the German Research Foundation (DFG), the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the German Ministry of Economics (BMWi), as well as by industry.
